English Kiln dried beech is used for the frame construction and legs can be made of English Walnut or Oak and other timbers are available.
The curled hair stuffing has been covered with jute scrim and hand stitched to form the contours which give this inviting armchair it comforting shape.
When the supply of 16 gauge springs ceased to be manufactured, we would not accept this as an excuse to use poorer substitutes so we set about making our own which work extremely well.
This most popular of armchairs is based on the classic Howard Bridgewater 29" or 74cm wide with an overall depth 36" or 92cm it has down filled cushions in the back and seat, tapering legs finish in our name stamped brass castors.
The deepest sofa we make at 42" or 106cm deep and 82" or 210cm wide with down filled arm. The seat and back cushions are exceptionally good for tall people or those who like to put their feet up and sink into soft down cushions.
A Wolstenholme 3 seater sofa 7'9" wide by 3'4" deep and 3'2" high. The softest down filled cushions on the arms, back and seat go to make this one of the most comfortable sofas you can imagine.
This particular version was custom made for a client in Oxfordshire to create a central focus in the library. Covered in Nicholas Herbert cotton/linen fabric and it stands on 6 English walnut legs set off with the Middleton Bray stamped brass castors.
This sofa is exactly like the Howard & Sons Baring sofa with a straight line back and has the arms back and seat cushioning filled with down over a soft sprung base for superb comfort. Width 190cm or 75", depth 85cm or 34", height 82cm or 32".
The Silbury slipper chair with arched back. An exceptionally comfortable slipper chair which has a hand sprung seat and back and best quality hair formed into hand stitched edges to create a nicely defined profile edge.
The seat and back cushions are filled with top quality Irish duck down, encased in cotton herringbone ticking (double stitched) it can be made with turned or straight tapering legs. Height 83cm, width 60cm, depth 75cm.
The Dalby armchair is a large armchair with a down cushion on the seat and back, there is room to get your feet up as the seating area is very generous. 36" or 92cm high, 34" or 87cm wide, 35" or 112cm deep.
Upholstered in the same manner as the Dalby armchair and offering the sitter a deeper seat on the sumptuous Irish down and duck feather seat and back cushions. Overall depth 110cm width 2 meters height 90cm.
The Cumulus sofa is better suited to allow sideways access to a coffee table as the arms have a gentle downwards curve, down filled cushions in the arms back and seat. 36" or 92cm deep and 36" or 92cm high.
This armchair is delightfully comfortable and yet more upright than most models allowing for easier rising out of the chair with a down cushion fixed to the back and a loose down cushion in the seat. 35" or 90cm high, 27" or 70cm wide and an overall depth of 32" or 82cm.
The Bulsara sofa has a hand sprung and curled hair stuffed back the same upholstery construction to the seat is then topped with a thick down filled single long seat cushion, a very nice sofa to lie out on! 30" or 76cm deep, 88" or 225cm wide and 33" or 84cm high.

A graceful back design with accentuated curves and a straight rail to the base as with all the armchair made at Middleton Bray the cushions are filled with best quality Irish duck down and feather.
Standard armchair overall depth 96cm, maximum width at front 90cm tapering to the back height 90cm.
The deep seated version is deeper by an additional 10cm to make it 106cm.
